Eligibility is not a promise of selection
Google says a supporting page in its AI features must be indexed and eligible for a search snippet. It does not promise that every eligible page will appear. A law firm should distinguish a technical eligibility check from a prediction about a particular answer.
Begin with pages that explain real services. Use Search Console and page inspection to investigate the actual URL rather than judging technical health from a browser view alone.
Strengthen a useful destination
A potential client needs to understand what the practice handles, where it operates, who provides the service, and how to take the next step. Put essential information in readable page content. Connect supporting articles and biographies with descriptive links.
A specific service page is not improved by stuffing every adjacent practice into it. If a question belongs to another practice area, link to a genuinely useful destination or acknowledge the boundary.
Keep reporting honest
Record the visible search experience, not just a domain position. A conventional result, a map result, and a citation in an AI response are different surfaces. Preserve the question and a dated observation so changes can be reviewed.
Google documents AI-feature traffic within overall Web reporting in Search Console. Avoid presenting a normal search-traffic increase as a measured AI-only gain without a defensible attribution method.
Questions worth asking
Do we need special AI schema?
Google's AI guidance does not require a special schema type. Use relevant, truthful markup that reflects the visible content.
